The mission of Children’s Aid Society (CAS) is to help children, youth and families in metropolitan Detroit, with a special focus on those most at-risk.

Supported by numerous foundations, government grants and private donations, CAS provides a variety of comprehensive child- and family-focused services that are coordinated with schools, the police and the community.  From our pre-school to our workplace preparation training, the goal of all of our programs is to help children and parents with targeted, innovative, cost-effective solutions that eliminate barriers to success.  Our family-focused approach has proven to be so effective that more than half of our programs are recognized as national models.

As the oldest child welfare agency in Michigan, CAS has evolved over time to meet the changing needs of the people and the community we serve. What hasn’t changed in more than 140 years is our passionate commitment to helping children and strengthening families.
