CAS to Hold Candlelight Vigil

Candles are now on sale for the Children's Aid Society Candlelight Vigil.

You can purchase your candles in person at the Children's Aid Society offices at Youthville. Candles cost $1.

On December 10, 2009, CAS will host a candlelight vigil.

Participants in the vigil will be asked to join us at the Woodward entrance to YouthVille.

At 6 p.m., Billie Christian, our Executive Director, will begin the vigil by lighting her candle and sharing her flame with the person next to her. That person will share his or her flame with the next person, and so on.

The flame symbolizes our unity as a community and our commitment to children, youth and families in Southeastern Michigan and around the world. It also stands for our ongoing commitment to reduce youth violence in Metro Detroit.
